Therapeutic Contract
Therapeutic Contract
This document serves as our mutual agreement regarding the structure and framework of our work together. Clear professional boundaries (the therapeutic setting) create a secure container in which profound transformation and the exploration of complex topics become possible.
1. Confidentiality

Everything that occurs during our sessions remains strictly confidential. This is an inviolable standard of professional ethics.

Exceptions: To maintain the highest quality of care, I may discuss our work with my clinical supervisor (a senior, experienced colleague). In these instances, your name and all identifying details are completely anonymized.

Safety Limits: Confidentiality may only be broken in exceptional circumstances mandated by law (e.g., an immediate threat to your life or the lives of others).

2. Session Duration and Schedule

• The duration of each session is 55 minutes.

• The standard frequency of meetings is once a week. This provides an optimal rhythm to maintain therapeutic momentum and support sustainable progress.

• Your agreed-upon time slot is reserved exclusively for you in my schedule.

——————————

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling (24-Hour Policy)

Therapy requires mutual commitment and responsibility.

• If you cancel or reschedule a session with less than 24 hours' notice, the session must be paid for in full. This policy helps maintain the integrity and commitment of the process, respects our time, and aids in working through psychological resistance that may arise during therapy.

• If I cancel a session with less than 24 hours' notice (excluding extreme emergencies), your next session will be provided free of charge.

——————————

4. Fees and Payment

• The session fee is fixed.

• I will provide at least one month's advance notice regarding any adjustments to session rates.

• Payment is due immediately following each session.

——————————

5. Principles of Interaction (Sensitivity and Autonomy)

The Right to Say "No": In Gestalt therapy, we may engage in creative experiments or focus on somatic (body) sensations. You reserve the right to decline any exercise or leave any question unanswered without needing to justify your decision.

Honesty & Openness: I encourage you to share if you feel uncomfortable or dissatisfied with anything happening during our sessions. Your candid feedback is invaluable material for the therapeutic process.

Sobriety: Sessions will not be conducted if you are under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed psychoactive substances.

——————————

6. Concluding Therapy

Therapy is a process with a clear beginning and ending.

• When you decide to end our work together, I strongly recommend attending a dedicated closing session.

This meeting allows us to review your progress, integrate your insights, and achieve healthy, conscious closure without leaving "unfinished business."

*  The decision to end therapy is ultimately yours (or made jointly), but processing this transition within our sessions is vital for consolidating your growth.

——————————

7. Out-of-Session Communication

• Our therapeutic work is confined to scheduled session times. I do not provide therapeutic support via messaging apps or phone calls between meetings (communication outside of sessions is strictly limited to administrative logistics, such as scheduling).

• In the event of an acute mental health crisis, I can provide you with contact details for emergency psychological support services.

——————————

8. Key Operational Requirements

Multiple Relationships: Family members, romantic partners, or close friends cannot be treated concurrently by the same therapist.

Online Environment: For virtual sessions, you are responsible for securing a comfortable, confidential, and quiet space with a stable internet connection, free from interruptions or third parties.

Medical Collaboration: If appropriate, I may recommend a consultation with a psychiatrist. Therapy can continue alongside medical or psychiatric care.

——————————

9. Dual Relationships & External Boundaries

To preserve the purity and integrity of the therapeutic process, we do not engage in personal, romantic, or commercial relationships outside of our sessions.

If we happen to cross paths in a public setting, I will not initiate contact first to protect your privacy and confidentiality, though I will respond if you greet me. Additionally, to maintain clear ethical boundaries, I cannot accept gifts or services from clients.
